Very Inebriated Persons
Went to the Hyde Park Calling festival on Saturday, which headlined Roger Waters and Texas along with a host of others (Starsailor and Suzanne Vega...). Van got three free tickets from her Amnesty connections - finally, a karmic reward! Not only were they free, they were VIP passes to Hard Rock Cafe's Ambassadors of Rock tent.
no, that's not what a castrated Roger Waters sounds like... or IS IT?
Oli, Van and I got to act like real Ambassadors - that is, eat, booze and generally lord it up for free. It was great ducking into the "booze tent" in between sets for some light refreshment (i.e., double amaretto sourz). We even saw England get booted out of the world cup from the comfort of our airconditioned digs. The only downside was missing Suzanne Vega's set because we came too late. Otherwise, it was a great taste of life on the other side.
