From the company inbox.

Dear all,

Find attached a report showing missing time by individual for the period of March 2005. Please, remember to complete your missing time before tomorrow noon. It is important that you complete all your time for MARCH.
Regards,

AMM

Dear A,

I've often wondered where my missing time has gone. I will do my best to find (attach?) it.

Perhaps some of it went missing staring blankly at the computer screen as I trawl through meeting invites - you know, the ones reserving "every other Friday for the next 27 weeks" for project update meetings. Or surfing the Internet - you know, that great productivity tool. Speaking of which, the most productive use of the Internet I've had this year was to search for this new job. Thanks, Internet!

I'm pretty sure no time went missing on airplanes this month; though I may be wrong. The train companies, though, owe me big time (pun intended). Other factors - I'm sure you'd be interested to know - that have contributed to my missing time include the M25, random ATM failures in Surbiton, this blog, and eBay. You may also want to investigate the General Theory of Relativity, as I've been walking especially quickly these past few weeks.

I also recall losing one hour as we changed to Summertime here in the northern hemisphere. I'll charge this at Standard rate (even though it was a weekend - you're quite welcome).

Regards
O.

note: the lines in gray came from a bureaucra-spam sent out this morning to everyone in ISE; I didn't actually have any missing time as I'd logged it all already. For those of you in a non-consultancy line of work, we charge our time to the customers every month and it gets reviewed by invisible gnomes wearing funny hats in HR. Putting in my time is not one of those things I enjoy doing.

needless to say, I never actually SENT anything back to this poor woman; I sometimes wish I had more courage.
