Oh, you're back.
After a 2-week hiatus I'm back in the UK.
The rest of the US Story will have to wait; it's not like life hasn't moved on since then. It's moved on A LOT.
Today marks the second week in my new job. I resigned from my old company back in December and now am employed by a technology company in sunny Basingstoke. By train it takes just about an hour to get there, so I expect to be catching up on a lot of reading now. I'm back in the consulting game, too; not bad if you can handle the coffee and late nights.
The best thing about not being a pseudo-manager? Overtime.
Last Wednesday was Australia day. Cydne and Alan called us out for drinks at the Walkabout. Which we didn't actually have, because the queues were so long. So instead we had a few beers and mandarin vodkas at Motion Bar beside the Embankment. It had only been about a month since I last saw them, but it felt like ages.
Before that, on Saturday I went Borough Market-cruising with Anj, Raj, Van and some other non-three-letter-named friends. After an impromptu picnic in Southwark Cathedral we went to see the last week of the Robert Frank Exhibition at the Tate, accompanied by a full length documentary of his life's work. Afterwards, I had a sneaking suspicion that the exhibit was a last ditch attempt at greatness by his various profitmaking bits before he shuffles off to the great Developing Room in the Sky.
I was recognized by a friend of a friend when Raj posted his pics online. The Internet, eh? Scary.
