Update
Well, I didn't get the home networking kit I wanted. Some lousy ebayer outbid me at the last moment. Frown.
So instead I went and bought a single USB adaptor from bluewire.com and set up a peer to peer network with Van's laptop. I'll probably get the router thing sorted when I have the inclination to. =)
