Bowing down - Jul. 19, 2004
From CdQ's column, pretty much what I said last week, albeit as always much more eloquently.
"I say we do more than pull out of Iraq. I say we apologize to the Iraqi people for having taken part in the invasion of their country, which took its toll in many Iraqi lives, and in the illegal occupation of their country, which persists to this day. I say we go on to re-examine our foreign policy-something we have not done since the day when we booted out the US bases-to see where our national interests lie, interests that are based as much on justice as on self-preservation. "
