holy places
Van just got back from Sagada, a remote mountain retreat about five hours from Baguio through bumpy dirt tracks and winding its way past the famed rice terraces.
Sagada has a long established mystical reputation. Many cite it as one of the holiest places in the Philippines. As one of the last retreats of the spirits who once roamed the land, Sagada is a logical choice - as remote and distant from the cesspool of Manila as you can get.
Hopefully one day I will be able to join her, before all the thatched roof igorot houses get replaced by corrugated steel.
