Unconvinced
Neil Gaiman's weblog!
I have been guily of doing what I always used to do in Opendiary - that is, drop out for weeks on end, not contributing a single word. Honestly, I thought I would have a lot more discipline this time, less vulnerable to Journal Fatigue. But since Van came it's like I never have time to arrange my thoughts.
Of course, that's not really a valid excuse at all.
I only began to realize this when I came across Neil's blog and saw about ten pages of entries - all from yesterday! When a Hugo and Nebula award winning writer, novelist and all around self-promoter can take time out to update his weblog and answer his fan mail, what the fuck am I doing then?
It got me to thinking about my "productive hours" and the whole Death Clock concept of wringing the last second out of your life, but then I stopped before more morbid thoughts could intrude. Really, the point isnt how much you've done, but whether you've made the effort to do it, at all.
Van has finished her second painting. It's a vase of flowers I bought for her at the Marks and Spencers'.
