I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen a flight test video for myself. The Moller Skycar is a working, personal VTOL using - get this - a rotary gasoline engine. If it does 28mpg as the site claims then it'll do even better than my MG.

 

 

I love these pie in the sky future technologies. Reading this article gave me the same feeling I got when Jayce first turned me onto the Segway. Somwehere, Futurama fans are doing happy dances in front of their monitors.

 

In case you're curious, you can bag a "delivery slot" for $10,000. That then means you pay a list price of $500,000, which should be peanuts compared to what some people pay for some crap 8 liter supertoy.
